Drama: The Legend Of Bagger Vance

The Legend Of Bagger Vance was directed by Robert Redford in 2000. This movie is about a man by the name of Hardy Greaves who loves golf, but it's given him six heart attacks while playing and is based during the great depression. Young Greaves idol and former golfer Rannulph Junuh is an alcoholic who is trying to recover from his time in WW1. Junuh is able to find his way back to his love for golf with the help of Greaves and a mysterious caddie by the name of Bagger Vance.

Comedy: Happy Gilmore 

Happy Gilmore was directed by Dennis Dugan and stars Adam Sandler. Happy Gilmore was a former hockey player who discovered he is a talented golfer. After the death of his father he moves into his grandmother's house. They find out his grandmother might lose the house so Happy joins the pro golf tour to win money so his grandmother doesn’t lose the house.

Drama/Romance: Tommy’s Honour

Tommy’s Honour was based in St Andrews, Scotland in 1866. Tommy Morris is 15 years old and is an avid golfer like his well known father Tom Morris, or Old Tom. Old Tom has won twice at the first major golf tournament, founded the Open Championship, and established the 18 holes per round standard. Young Tommy then took the Open three times while still in his teens and became the first touring professional.

Biography/Drama: The Greatest Game Ever Played

The Greatest Game Ever Played is based in 1913. Francis Ouimet pushes back against the prejudices of the class boundaries that exclude him from golf. The movie is about Francis’s quest to become the first amateur golfer at the US Open. Francis eventually makes it to the US Open and competes against his childhood idol, Harry Vardon. This is a soul lifting story and shows how the game has evolved since its early beginnings. 

Family/Sport: Round Of Your Life

Round Of Your Life is about a 15 year old by the name of Taylor Collins. He’s the son of a former PGA member, but doesn’t have an interest in golf. He does poorly on his golf tryouts and disappoints his father. After his father gets a coma from a car accident Taylor decides to try golfing again. Through faith, hope, and love Taylor's family learns important lessons that go beyond golfing.
